Our impact is felt in policies that ensure healthcare access for women, children, and individuals The Chief of Party (COP) will provide leadership in the overall management of a district health systems strengthening project in Tanzania, with an emphasis on strengthening the delivery of anti-retrovirals (ARVs) and support of orphans and vulnerable children (OVC). The COP will provide oversight of the program to ensure achievement of program goals and objectives, and effective coordination with MOH and other partners and ensure compliance with donor rules and regulations. *This position is contingent on successful award of a proposal. Skills Required: • Master's Degree with 13-15 years of experience, or PhD with 8-10 years of experience in public health or related field. • A minimum of 10 years of experience in managing donor-funded HIV/AIDS projects at national and international levels. Experience in managing USAID programs is highly preferred. • Demonstrated project management and leadership capabilities are required, as are the abilities to lead multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams. • Experience in collaborating and coordinating with the Ministry of Health in Africa is required, and in Tanzania, preferred. The Leadership, Management and Sustainability (LMS) Program is five-year leader with associate cooperative agreement awarded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in September 2005. The LMS vision is that organizations and programs throughout the developing world lead and manage in ways that inspire commitment and make positive and lasting changes in people’s health. Our mission is to support people and organizations around the world to strengthen the way they lead and manage their own programs to achieve widespread improvements in health. Through well proven capacity building approaches and high quality technical assistance delivery and transfer platforms, LMS is strengthening leadership and management skills of managers and service providers in health systems worldwide. OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Senior Program Associate (SPA) manages and/or supports selected regional and country specific projects in the field, and in that capacity has programmatic and budgetary responsibility for their successful implementation. The region of focus for this position is Latin America. In consultation and collaboration with LMS and MSH staff, USAID, collaborating agencies and other stakeholders the SPA oversees the formulation of country-specific strategies and activities of assigned LMS country programs in Latin America. S/he supervises selected members of country support teams and in-country teams, including Chiefs-of-Party and Project Directors based in the field. In addition to this, the SPA provides technical assistance to clients and partner organizations in areas of expertise selected in accordance with her/his areas of specialization. The SPA is aware of, and adheres to MSH’s procurement integrity standards in all activities. The position is based in Cambridge and may require international travel up to 25% of the time.

Latin America Program Development Officer

The Latin America Program Development Officer's primary responsibility will be to manage all aspects of Room to Read's operational launch in any new countries in Latin America (currently three to four countries prior to 2010). This will include: general programmatic and operational research, key partner/contact management and outreach, operational and legal set-up, NGO/partner mapping, and program mapping. The position is part of our Program Development team and will report directly to the Chief Program Development Officer. This position is based at our Global Office in San Francisco's Presidio.
