Senior Technical Scientist, HIV/AIDS

The MEASURE Evaluation Project at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is a large international project funded by the US Agency for International Development that focuses on strengthening health information across a range of health areas to inform health sector decision-making. Activities include development of tools and methods to improve data collection and use; capacity building in monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and health information systems (HIS) through formal training and field technical assistance, and evaluation research. The project seeks to hire a senior technical specialist for HIV/AIDS. This is a senior technical position and will be responsible for leading, overseeing, or providing technical advice on many of the HIV/AIDS related activities of the project. Other responsibilities include liaising with international agencies, bilateral donors, and other partners on efforts to further standardize and harmonize HIV/AIDS Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) tools and methods and overall coordination of activities of the project with those of other organizations. The position will be based at the project headquarters in Chapel Hill, North Carolina; working through Constella Futures which is a partner on the MEASURE Evaluation Project.<p>

Constella Futures is seeking an individual with expertise in economic and financial modeling, analysis, and evaluation of policy interventions in the areas of family planning, poverty reduction, and HIV/AIDS. The individual should have demonstrated experience in programmatic areas of interest that can contribute to public sector implementation of sound policies and operational programs in the areas of costing, cost effectiveness, resource allocation, finance, and economic impact. The successful candidate will have imagination and capacity to apply economic analysis and modeling to real issues to inform policy change in developing countries. Knowledge of gender issues and analysis related to reproductive health and HIV/AIDS a plus.

Program Director, Maternal Health

JOB SUMMARY:
EngenderHealth has long been involved in activities that relate to maternal health, with particular attention to clinical interventions to reduce and prevent maternal mortality and morbidity, such as emergency obstetric care, post-abortion care, post-partum hemorrhage, fistula repair and prevention, as well as promoting the primary prevention intervention of increasing access to quality family planning services to delay, space and limit births in accordance with individual needs. EngenderHealth has projects to reduce maternal mortality and morbidity in Ghana, to increase access to state of the art interventions in maternal care in West Africa, to address post-partum hemorrhage and AMTSL in Asia, and to advocate for evidence-based management of eclampsia and to prevent and repair fistula globally.
In light of the recent call to revitalize the efforts to improve maternal health, EngenderHealth is looking for a Director to revisit its overall corporate strategy, make recommendations for further growth and development, and to assist in pursuing strategic funding opportunities for maternity health.
This position will be housed within a Global and Technical Leadership Department which currently includes Family Planning, HIV/AIDS, Men as Partners and Gender, and Youth global programs.

Job Summary
The Program Associate (PA) – Gender works with the Technical Advisor (TA) for Underserved Populations and other ACQUIRE staff to assist the technical advisor to implement the Gender Initiative funded by PEPFAR, which aims to strengthen male engagement activities within HIV/AIDS programs in Namibia, Tanzania, Mozambique and Ethiopia.
