Global poverty is at the root of many of the world’s greatest challenges and IGD believes that dramatically reducing it is one of the most effective steps we can take in creating a better future. Addressing the inequities of people living in poverty is a critical factor in ensuring the future prosperity and security of us all. IGD partners are taking action to make global poverty reduction a national priority for policymakers and the business community.
A newly elevated position for The Initiative for Global Development, the Vice President, Development will work closely with the CEO, COO and the Board of Directors to develop and implement a comprehensive fund development effort. She/He will be responsible for solidifying the current network of 250 identified donors while continuing to grow the donor base from foundation, major donor, corporate, and Board sources. The Vice President will be responsible for strengthening and maximizing the organization’s philanthropic potential while maintaining a high level of integrity in fundraising activities.

Constella Futures is seeking an individual with expertise in economic and financial modeling, analysis, and evaluation of policy interventions in the areas of family planning, poverty reduction, and HIV/AIDS. The individual should have demonstrated experience in programmatic areas of interest that can contribute to public sector implementation of sound policies and operational programs in the areas of costing, cost effectiveness, resource allocation, finance, and economic impact. The successful candidate will have imagination and capacity to apply economic analysis and modeling to real issues to inform policy change in developing countries. Knowledge of gender issues and analysis related to reproductive health and HIV/AIDS a plus.

Critical to the success of this position will be the CDO’s skills in effective and flexible communication styles due to the diversity of RDI’s constituencies. The CDO must bring both political savvy and a gravitas in operating within these networks. A minimum of seven to ten years of fund development related experience is required. A Bachelor’s degree is required with an advanced degree preferred. Strong skills in raising funds as well as experience with donor-related technology and research is necessary. Subject matter expertise around global development issues and global poverty is highly desirable.
