Position Description
The Project Manager for the Visceral Leishmaniasis Program, under the direction of the Senior Project Manager, ensures the progress of interdisciplinary project activities coordinated in support of the VL Program.
This person is responsible for the project management support of project activities including activities with international experts, partners, and regulatory agencies. In collaboration with the Senior Project Manager, the Project Manager manages activities and acts as project liaison between internal management and external partners. S/he specifically identifies and managers project-related priorities, applying standard project management tools, processes and principles to meet timelines and budgets.
Responsibilities and Duties
Job Duties:
- With the input and participation of the Program
Director, Senior Project Manager, and sub/team members, facilitate the
development and tracking of goals, objectives, detailed timelines and
budgets for assigned project (s).
- Work with the Program Director, Senior Project Manager, and
senior management to define roles and responsibilities of team and team
members.
- Organize meetings, issue minutes, track and report project progress, and follow up on action items.
- Communicate with a variety of internal and external
stakeholders,anticipating and identifying discrepancies in priorities,
plans and activities for immediate resolution.
- Collaborate with Program Director, Senior Project Manager to
synthesize project-related information and prepare reports, proposals,
updates, issues, recommendations for senior management, partners, and
funders, as needed.
Necessary Skills and Qualifications
- Advanced degree in life sciences or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience with the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
- Knowledge of drug development regulatory process required
- Demonstrated success managing projects and/or drug portfolio activities.
- Experience with project partnerships.
- Experience with product scale-up, manufacturing, and commercialization preferred.
- Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Demonstrated experience with project management software applications and tools.
- Must be able to work in a fast paced, start-up environment.
