Position Description
The Program Associate for SPS Partner Relations assists the SPS Director to ensure that the expertise of Core Team partners and Specialized Resource partners is accessed and utilized to enrich the SPS program and support its implementation. The SPS Program Associate for Partner Relations serves as the primary liaison among SPS partners, key SPS senior technical staff in Arlington, VA and with lead technical staff in SPS field offices, with an emphasis on communications, work planning, budget monitoring, and reporting.
Responsibilities and Duties
1. Work with the SPS Director to develop an approach to assure effective two-way communication with each of the SPS partners as well as systems for exchanging knowledge and information among all partners.
2. Assist the SPS Director in coordinating technical assistance to SPS from partner organizations by identifying and drawing on the best available personnel from all partners for planning and management of activities.
3. Work with SPS technical managers and partner representatives to define scopes of work for SPS technical assistance from partners and coordinate the process of identifying best partner resources to meet the defined technical requirements.
4. As necessary, work with the CPM Deputy Directors for Technical Strategy and Quality; Finance, Contracts, and Operations; and SPS partner representatives to develop scopes of work in response to Associate RFAs. Assist in implementing work under Associate Awards, and coordinate the process of matching scopes of work with the most appropriate partner resources.
5. Provide inputs to annual SPS portfolio reviews, quarterly and annual reports and other documents as needed. Monitor SPS partner performance including tracking sub-agreements, budgets and sub-budgets using a computerized tracking system.
Necessary Skills and Qualifications
1. Master’s Degree required, preferably in a health-related field.
2. Experience in coordinating and monitoring technical assistance under USAID-funded programs preferred.
3. Strong experience in technical writing, ideally with experience in a health-related field.
4. Strong communication and organizational skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
5. Demonstrated intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
6. Fluency in English; proficiency in Spanish or French with including speaking, understanding, and reading with the ability to conduct business in these languages,
7. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities, and work independently.
8. Willingness to travel, as needed.
