Position Description
We have an exciting opportunity for an additional Grants Manager in Foundations. This position supports the staff of the Foundations Unit in managing more than three dozen professional foundation relationships for CARE, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Ford Foundation, and other major donors. The Grants Manager works in partnership with others in the Unit to oversee the stewardship of all active grants from professional foundations (currently some 50 grants totaling over $50 million).
Responsibilities and Duties
This position will primarily be responsible for the timely production of donor reports, but will also play a role in the development of select concepts and proposals. This position is also responsible for proposal development and review of all proposed budets and monitoring financial stewardship of grants. S/he will directly supervise the unit Intern, and will also oversee some of the work of the Grants and Research Assistant. Both of these positions will assist the Grants Manager with administrative tasks and ensuring proper oversight and fulfilment of foundation grants.
Necessary Skills and Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree (Master's in Int'l affairs, business, finance, political science, communications, or related field desired) and at least 2 years of Grants-related work experience. The candidate must have excellent organizational skills, proven communications skills (oral and written), experience with MS Office, strong time management and analytical skills. Also possess a flexible, team-oriented work style. Foreign language proficiency (especially French and Spanish) is a plus.
