The Chief of Party (COP) will provide leadership in the overall management of a district health systems strengthening project in Tanzania, with an emphasis on strengthening the delivery of anti-retrovirals (ARVs) and support of orphans and vulnerable children (OVC). The COP will provide oversight of the program to ensure achievement of program goals and objectives, and effective coordination with MOH and other partners and ensure compliance with donor rules and regulations.
*This position is contingent on successful award of a proposal.
Skills Required:
• Master's Degree with 13-15 years of experience, or PhD with 8-10 years of experience in public health or related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in managing donor-funded HIV/AIDS projects at national and international levels. Experience in managing USAID programs is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated project management and leadership capabilities are required, as are the abilities to lead multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams.
• Experience in collaborating and coordinating with the Ministry of Health in Africa is required, and in Tanzania, preferred.
Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of Swahili preferred .
