Position Description
PATH is an international, nonprofit organization that creates sustainable, culturally relevant solutions, enabling communities worldwide to break longstanding cycles of poor health. PATH's mission is to improve the health of people around the world by advancing technologies, strengthening systems, and encouraging healthy behaviors.
The Business Development Associate will support PATH's business development efforts with the United States government and other sector entities, particularly in response to new program opportunities.
Responsibilities and Duties
This position will focus primarily on assisting with developing new business strategy and business intelligence gathering. Primary duties will include providing support and technical assistance to PATH's External Relations Business Development Support team, and working with Country and Global Programs within the organization as they respond to new business opportunities. Assisting the Director of Business Development, responsibilities may include:
* Collect and disseminate data and business intelligence that will best inform key decision makers regarding new and current program opportunities.
* Provide support in translating intelligence-gathering into new business trends that inform program leadership.
* Provide support in tracking outcomes of key opportunities, including efforts that may be re-competed in the future.
* Support the development of institution-wide business development documents; manage information and build a library, including lessons learned.
* Provide support to the development of corporate capability statements, project summaries, staff qualifications, and proposal management. Interface with Shared Services teams (including Human Resources), Country or Global Program Leadership, Publications and other staff throughout the organization.
* Support the development of a public/private partnership tool box and matrix for programs and proposals.
* Provide support to cost proposal, technical proposal teams, and proposal management, including RFP analysis, development of outlines and schedules, issuance and oversight of writing and production assignments, integration of inputs and compliance validation.
* Assist in all aspects of the production of proposals, including procurement of key production materials, maintaining a ready supply of necessary materials, and ensuring adherence to PATH publication standards.
* Draft proposals and/or related documents or serve as first author on selected sections of technical proposals.
Necessary Skills and Qualifications
Required Skills
* Prior experience with proposal preparations and production efforts
* Proven ability to coordinate complex schedules
* Proven attention to accuracy and details
* Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
* Outstanding organizational and team-building skills
* Ability to juggle multiple demands, manage shifting priorities and negotiate timelines
* Known to be a quick study, and quick responder
* Proficient computer skills, especially in Word, Powerpoint, Outlook and Excel
* Some background knowledge of United States government acquisition and assistance regulations and accounting practices preferred
Required Experience
Bachelor's degree, plus a minimum of three years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
