Description:
PSI seeks interns for the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Department to support PSI's global mission. This full-time position is based in Washington, D.C., and reports to the Associate Program Manager of Maternal and Child Health.

The MCH Department intern will work on many different projects related to supporting PSI's diarrheal disease prevention and treatment programs. PSI has safe water and oral rehydration salt programs to prevent diarrhea and death from dehydration in more than 25 countries.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Knowledge & Information Management
# Maintaining records of PSI activities and projects;

# Organizing and filing program materials;

# Updating public relations materials;

Research
# Finding resources, including journal articles and books;

# Researching various health related topics;

# Researching various safe water and child health related interventions;

Field Program Support
# Responding to field requests for technical information;

# Preparing program overviews and best practice materials;

Administration
# Providing administrative support to the MCH team;

# Photocopying and faxing as needed.

Experience:
# Flexibility, resourcefulness, and ability to assume varied responsibilities, often with minimal supervision;

# Detail oriented, proficient in word processing, spreadsheet applications. Should have excellent communication skills;

# Experience with Adobe Photoshop or Adobe InDesign a plus, but not required; and

# Interest in international relations, marketing, or public health preferred.

The intern should be willing to work 24 hours per week. A stipend commensurate with experience provided.
