Landesa, formerly Rural Development Institute (RDI), works to secure land rights for the world’s poorest people. Having worked to help secure land rights for more than 100 million families in more than 40 countries, Landesa partners with developing countries to design and implement laws, policies, and programs concerning land that provide opportunity, further economic growth, and promote social justice. This role is a newly created position within Landesa. The Director of Information Technology Services (ITS) will have the unique and challenging opportunity to be the first full time IT employee. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director provides the overall strategic leadership and will lead the design and implementation of the technical aspects of Landesa’s overall business strategy as well as contribute to the day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to the mission of Landesa and be passionate about applying the mission in an impactful way throughout the world. She/He will be experienced in driving the philosophy of technology, preferably in a start-up or rapid growth environment. This individual will thrive in an environment of new ideas and challenges, someone willing to think like an entrepreneur, but in a strategic manner. She/He will have experience working on high-level strategic decisions, administering systems, as well as the day-to-day troubleshooting and technical support issues. Landesa emphasizes a culture of serving one another; no task is too big or too small for any one individual. The ideal candidate will roll up his or her sleeves whenever necessary. Bachelors Degree required and with an emphasis in information technology or engineering; graduate degree in a related discipline is preferred. Minimum of 8-10 years experience in progressively responsible IT roles, including 4 years in a leadership position. Experience working in a Windows 2008 Server environment is highly desirable. MCSE or MCITP and CCNA are preferred. Familiarity and experience with Sage Fund Accounting, QuickBooks, SharePoint, Adobe Create Suite, HyperV, and VMware are also preferred.
